Fourth Annual Calumet Heights Community Coalition

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Our 3rd Annual Calumet Heights Community Festival was a great success. The weather was perfect! More than 400 resident participated in a day of family fun and good food! It was great to have neighbors come together and enjoy one another. It was particularly joyful to see children, teens and adults all together in community. I am certain this will promote good will and also allow us to get to know one another better.

Thanks to Marge Matute, Sheila Morris, The United Methodist Men of Southlawn, The Chapmans, Anna Gilbert, Angela Williams of the Southeast Chicago Chamber of Commerce, Darrin Weatherspoon, Shirley Vilo, the men and women of the Chicago Police Department 004th District, Pat & Christelle Evans, Goldie Shelton-Seals, the Southlawn United Methodist Church Youth Choir and Praise Force and all the volunteers who helped to make this day a success!

Big ups to our "hostess with the mostest" Winona Davis and Donald Bradley for the pictures.

  1. Yes it was definitely a successful event! The kids were especially happy and had a lot of fun....it's always nice when our community and political leaders come together to celebrate unity! I hope to work on more committees in the future for the festival......
